CCTV licensing set for 2011

The Private Security Authority (PSA) will now most likely postpone the licencing of CCTV systems to 2011 whereupon those contractors who are installing CCTV systems for security purposes will be required to attain certification of compliance with the CCTV Code of Practice specification document as well as Standard Recommendation 40:2005 (SR 40:2005).

It is intended that compliance with this document, as well as SR40:2005, will form the basis for eligibility for a PSA CCTV Installer's licence. When a complete EN standard covering CCTV installation (prEN50132) is fully incorporated into the national portfolio of standards, the PSA will give consideration to adopting that standard as the basis for licensing of all CCTV installers.
